Green Builiding Materials ICC Evaluation Service
ICC Evaluation Service provides product evaluation of environmental attributes within nine categories of building materials.
ICC-ES Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation™ (SAVE™) Program
ICC Evaluation Service created the SAVE™ Program to verify manufacturers’ claims regarding the sustainable attributes of their products.
Building product evaluation under this program results in a Verification of Attributes Report™, which provides technically accurate product information that can be helpful to those seeking to qualify for points under major green rating systems
- U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED
- Green Building Initiative's (GBI) Green Globes
- the proposed National Green Building Standard™
Verification guidelines are developed, with input from industry and other interested parties, to use in verifying manufacturers’ claims about the sustainable attributes of their products. These guidelines address the production stage of the report subject beginning with raw material acquisition and progressing through final manufacturing and packaging (“cradle-to-gate”).
Evaluation categories are:
Evaluation Guideline For Determination Of ...
-
EG101 – Recycled Content
Of Materials
-
EG102 – Biobased Material Content
-
EG103 – Solar Reflectance, Thermal Emittance And Solar Reflective Index Of Roof Covering Materials
-
EG104 – Regionally Extracted, Harvested Or Manufactured Materials Or Products
-
EG105 – Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Content And Emissions Of Adhesives And Sealants
-
EG106 – Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Content And Emissions Of Paints And Coatings
-
EG107 – Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Content And Emissions Of Floor Covering Products
-
